1.Taking Screenshots Using the Print Screen key
This method of taking screenshots does not require any setup and it also work quickly with the internet or any image editing app like Microsoft Paint, Photoshop etc. And the steps involved are presented below just follow them carefully.

Steps:
>>1. On your Windows 10 simply press the Print Screen key on your keyboard (next to F2 key), and the screenshot of your present screen will be copied to the clipboard.
>>2. Press Ctrl + V keys over any platform that usually accept images/photo and the screenshot will be pasted. The platform could be a social media site, image editor app like Photoshop as I have mentioned before or even any chatting platform. Then you can then share with friends.
Alternatively, to take screenshots of a picture of the present or current window in focus, then you can do that by pressing Alt + Print Screen instead.
Limitations to this method:
The limitation to this method is that it does not really save the image automatically, to permanently save the image you need to paste it in an image editing app like Photoshop, Paint etc. to be able to save it to your drive and also you cannot edit it before sharing, due to this limitation to me is not really the best way to take screenshots of your Windows 10 screen.
2. Taking screenshot and saving it as file on your PC
This is a way of taking screenshots of the full screen of the PC and saving to a particular location on your PC, instead of pasting the image into editing app. So it is better to save automatically and below are the procedures involved.
Steps:
>>1. Simply press Windows + Print Screen keys and a full screen screenshot (image) will be saved to Screenshots folder in your default Pictures folder.
The image created will always be in PNG Format and to also access the folder where image is saved you can create a shortcut of it to your desktop for easy access. This method is better if you need to take a multiple screenshots and probably organize them as an image file on your PC.
Limitations to this method:
Here you are only allowed to take full screen screenshots, and no option to edit the screenshot before saving.

3. Taking screenshot of specific region of your PC
To take screenshots of a specific region of your PC you have to be upgraded to the latest updated Creators Update to use this windows features as Windows 10 allows taking screen of a specific region of your windows. Below are the steps involved to carry out this task.
Steps:
>>1. Simply press Windows + Shift + S keys to run region screenshot taking tool. You’ll see a crosshair and your background will be blurred.
>>2. Next click-and-drag to select the area you need to screenshot. After then the screenshot of selected area will be copied to the clipboard.
>>3. Simply proceed to paste the screenshot to any image field and it will be shared pending to your use. Even if this method involves three steps but while using it you would find out that it is faster than the first method.
Limitations to this method
The limitation to this method is that it would save the screenshot automatically and you would not be able to edit the image before sending or sharing it.
4. Using the Windows 10 Game Bar to screenshot Xbox Game Bar tools in Windows 10 is another platform that can grant you access of taking screenshot on your PC but this works only in opened apps (But not file explorer or Windows Settings to be precise) and setting each apps as a game at least once in Game Bar before screenshotting is a basic requirement.
To setup any app as a game effective, just open the app and proceed by pressing Windows + G keys and a window will prompt up just check the checkbox next to, Yes, this is a game and the app immediately will be set as a game in the Game Bar. Note that the Game Bar will always remember you on your preferences.
Steps to screenshot:
>>1. Simply press Windows + Alt + Print Screen keys and a window screenshot will be taken without any indication. You will locate the screenshot in Captures folder inside your default Videos folder of your windows.
The image will be in the format of PNG and will take after the name of the program that you screenshot from alongside with the date/time stamp.
Limitations
The limitation to this method is that you can’t edit the image and it’s only limited to window screenshots.
5. Using Windows 10 Snipping Tool to Take Screenshot
Snipping Tool is a built-in Windows tools which can also serve as an alternative to taking screenshot but it might not be as fast as the previous method but it definitely offers you more control over the image.
Steps:
>>1. Simply type snipping tool in Windows search to launch Snipping Tool or you can easily access it from the Start menu under the Windows Accessories folder.
>>2. Note that Snipping tool presents you with 4 modes to capture screenshots. You may decide to capture the region, free form, window, and full screen screenshots. To take screenshot from Snipping Tool just Press New button to take the screenshot.
>>3. After step two of this tutorial the screenshot will immediately open up in the snipping tool interface and you can also edit it by using basic pen and highlighter. To save simply Go to File > Save as to save your screenshot image to your PC.
Limitations to this method
The limitation to this method is that the snipping tool do not present you with the option of managing multiple screenshots and it has a very limited feature and also require much effort in taking screenshot.
6. Using a Third-Party Screenshotting App
If you also need to take screenshot effectively there are other third-party app which will deliver this task so easily to you but for the sake of this tutorial we will be using a third-party app known as PicPick. This app can take up to 7 different types of screenshots and you can batch edit them using dozens of image editing tools like paint, Photoshop etc.
To use this app (PicPick) follow the below procedure:
>>1. First of all, download and install PicPick and then go to File > Program Options.
>>2. Proceed to Hot Keys section and you will be able to view all the screenshot methods along with a hotkey assign to them. For effective usage re-configure and memorize the hotkeys for screenshot types that you want to use it now depends on the settings you need.
>>3. Auto Save also be seen in the same section. Simply click on it and check the checkbox next to Automatically Save Images option and provide a path or location where the screenshots will be saved.
Steps to select type of screenshot:
>>1. Simply Press the hotkey for the type of screenshot you require and it will be automatically saved to the specified location or drive that you set it to. If you are looking for a way to take multiple screenshots and also edit them in a particular place, then you can give PicPick a trial.
Limitations to this third-party app (PicPick)
This app normally needs to run in the background of your PC to be able to offer you with the packages and features it came with and its icon also stays in the system tray.
7. Using Microsoft Edge Web Note tool to Screenshot
Microsoft Edge Browser present you with a tool known as Web Note Tool which allows you take screenshot of content inside the browser and this tool is basically made for editing web content and sharing with others and also the screenshot can also be saved locally.
Steps to use the tool:
>>1. Presently inside Microsoft Edge, just click on the Web Note button in the address bar (pen icon). The address bar will turn purple and the screenshot will be taken. You can also edit it using a pen, highlighter, and a text box which depends on you.

This particular feature is made limited only to Microsoft Edge and you only take screenshots of website or web pages.

8. Using extensions for Chrome & Firefox to Screenshot
Chrome and Firefox also present an extension for their users to be able to screen just like the case of Microsoft Edge. This extension save screenshots to local storage and can also share the screenshot online and also it gives you the ability to save screenshot to the cloud storage for future reference
Steps to use this extensions:
>>1. Simply install the extension and after installation, use the screenshot hotkeys Ctrl + Shift + E (default) to take the screenshot of the web page.
>>2. After the previous step, the screenshot will immediately open in Awesome Screenshot editor where you can use dozens of tools to edit it. Click on Done when you are done editing.
>>3. After this, you will see an options to share and save the screenshot. You can locally download, copy to clipboard, save to Google Drive, or save to Awesome Screenshot cloud storage pending on your choice.
The extension of this Chrome and Firefox browser offer the option to take multiple screenshot and also edit them in the process.
Limitations to these extensions
It is only limited to web pages and the screenshot taking and sharing/saving process is a bit slower as compared to other methods. This extension only allow screenshot to be taken on only web pages and the process of taking and sharing/saving is a bit slower compare to previous methods of taking screenshots of Windows 10 screen.
