Access Bank PLC is a Nigerian multinational commercial bank, and is owned by Access Bank Group. This banking group has implemented a new service to their system, as prospective customers can now open a new account through their mobile phone just from comfort of their homes.
From our previous post, we outlined the requirements for opening a new bank account with your mobile phone for that of zenith bank. Now read on for the basic requirements for opening a new bank account with Access bank.
As of recent, Access bank introduced a short ussd code for making transactions like; buying airtime, paying bills, transfer of funds and other services. Now, the newly introduced ussd short code for opening a savings account on Access bank is *901#. Below is how it works.
How To Open A new Account With ACCESS BANK
With your mobile phone, create a new account on access bank by dialing this code this way *901*0#.
After dialing the above code using your phone, you will be asked or prompted to open the account using your Bank Verification Number (BVN) or that of your personal data/details. In case you don’t know your BVN, just dial this code *565*0# on your mobile phone in order to retrieve it.
Select BVN or that of your personal details and reply to some of the prompted requirements correctly. Then wait for a confirmation message that will be sent to you containing your new Access Bank Account Number.
I suggest you choose the option of BVN if you have your BVN with you, other wise, select Personal details. The reason is because, using BVN makes the whole process easier.
Note: When you choose the option of BVN, ensure you dial the short code on that mobile number you used in registering your BVN, if not, you may get an error message that says records doesn’t match during the course of opening the account.
What to do After Getting your Account Number?
What do, is to go to any nearby Access bank to complete and activate the account fully, by using your Passport photograph and any valid identity card. That’s all, go ahead and fund your account and make transactions anytime you like.
